About Us

Bridging global technology
and Indian capability

Since 2002, SureTech International has connected international technology developers with the partners, procurement pathways and industrial capability that let their technologies take root in India.

Our Background

Founded on a career spent importing the right technologies

SureTech International was established in 2002 by Mr. R. K. Chanana, a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience in professional practice, completely devoted to advising his clients on setting up new industrial projects in India. His professional career focused on bringing to India globally emerging technologies which would be intrinsic to the country's future needs for growth — contributing, in his own way, towards every Indian's responsibility of nation building.

Along with rendering advice on globally available competitive technologies across a very wide spectrum of industrial sectors, and on the evaluation criteria for selecting the best technologies and machineries suited to Indian conditions, he was — being a finance professional at core — at the same time deeply involved with the financial planning, layout and syndication of finances for his clients' projects. His evolvement of a large number of unique financing patterns for project financing won him many accolades and laurels, both from amongst his co-professionals as well as industry leaders.

During his professional career he was exposed to a very wide array of leading global technologies which required in-depth comparative analysis and a deep understanding of their long-term susceptibility to obsolescence, before advising on their import. One outstanding example of that farsightedness was his advice, nearly three decades ago, on technology import for the extrusion of cold formed seamless metal and alloy tubes. That cutting edge technology is still one of the latest available globally, is very much in use, and today serves some of India's most strategic and critical defence requirements.

By the 1990s the winds of economic liberalization were beginning to gather momentum in India. It was at that point that he could visualize how, when and where India's industrial and service infrastructure would build up over the next few crucial decades of growth — and where the next wave of value creation opportunities would hit its shores.

“Liberalization with localization” would be the mantra that would pole vault India into achieving the status of a developed nation.

Given, on the one hand, the country's strategic need for Indian companies to globally source, import and localize critical technologies — especially from western nations where growth had reached near-stagnation levels, and their consequent need to export their technologies and products to the world's latest nation to open up internationally — coupled, on the other hand, with the huge market potential offered by India, the timing seemed just right to float a new international technology sourcing firm.

Rajeev Kumar Chanana

Founder & Chief Executive, SureTech International

Rajeev Kumar Chanana is an Indian entrepreneur, Chartered Accountant and technology strategist with decades of experience spanning industrial project development, finance, international technology partnerships, defence and strategic technologies.

His professional career began in finance and industrial advisory, working with companies setting up new projects in India. His expertise developed at the intersection of technology identification, project planning and project finance — evaluating advanced technologies available internationally and finding ways to adapt and deploy them effectively in India.

In the mid-1980s, Chanana achieved a notable milestone when he arranged seed equity from the German Government for an Indian industrial project involving German technical and financial collaboration — an initiative SureTech describes as a first for an Indian Chartered Accountant.

Over the years, his focus increasingly shifted towards identifying technologies with long-term strategic relevance for India. Among the areas highlighted in his professional profile is his early involvement in bringing technology for the extrusion of cold-formed seamless metal and alloy tubes to India — a capability that subsequently found applications in India's strategic and defence requirements.

As India entered the era of economic liberalisation, Chanana advocated an approach he described as “liberalization with localization”: India should gain access to advanced technologies from around the world while simultaneously developing the domestic capability to manufacture, adapt and sustain them. This philosophy led to the establishment of SureTech International in 2002.

Under Chanana's leadership, the company has worked to connect international technology developers with opportunities and partners in India, particularly across defence, homeland security, disaster management and dual-use technologies. His work has also encompassed defence offsets, technology-transfer and licensing arrangements, identifying Indian industrial partners for overseas companies, structuring financial arrangements and advising international businesses navigating India's corporate and taxation environment.

Across his career, a consistent theme has been the effort to bridge global technology and Indian capability — bringing together finance, industry and international partnerships to support India's technological and strategic requirements.

Commander Shashank Jha (Retd.)

Vice President — Operations, SureTech International

Commander Shashank Jha (Retd.) is a former Indian Navy helicopter pilot and defence aviation professional with more than 23 years of service in the Indian Navy. At SureTech International his work focuses on defence and aerospace technologies and their introduction into the Indian market.

During his naval career, Commander Jha accumulated extensive operational flying experience across a range of demanding missions — including Special Forces operations, Search & Rescue, Anti-Submarine Warfare and Maritime Air Warfare — giving him first-hand experience of naval aviation and the operational requirements of India's armed forces.

The final seven years of his service were spent at Naval Headquarters, where his responsibilities extended beyond operational aviation to the long-term development of the Indian Navy's helicopter fleet. He was involved in helicopter aviation planning and long-term procurement, while also handling futuristic projects involving research and development organisations, private-sector companies and military innovation centres.

One of the defining assignments of his naval career came during his tenure with the Aircraft Carrier Office at Naval Headquarters. Commander Jha was involved in overseeing the trials, integration and commissioning of INS Vikrant, India's first indigenously designed and built aircraft carrier — placing him at the intersection of one of India's most significant indigenous defence programmes.

Following his retirement from the Navy, Commander Jha carried his operational and procurement experience into the private defence sector. His focus has been on identifying and introducing niche equipment, innovative products and cutting-edge technologies for the Indian Armed Forces, particularly within India's manned and unmanned military aerospace ecosystem.

At SureTech International, his background gives him a distinctive understanding of both sides of the defence technology equation: the operational requirements of the armed forces and the complexities of India's military procurement system. His experience is particularly relevant to international defence and aerospace companies seeking to introduce advanced technologies into India and develop partnerships within the country's expanding defence-industrial ecosystem.

Commander Jha has also represented SureTech in its engagement with international technology companies. In 2024, Italian defence-electronics company FlySight identified him as SureTech's Vice President while announcing a strategic collaboration with the Indian company to promote its OPENSIGHT solutions in India.
